Based on the words of Dr. Travis Taylor there are no known technologies that use the 1.6 GHz bandwidth. However, this is flat out wrong. Even with a quick search on google I discovered 2 types of technology that use 1.6 GHz. First are L-band radar systems, which use the bandwidth of between 1 and 2 GHz.. 5G networks use two primary regions of spectrum Frequency Range 1 (FR1) that goes from 410 MHz to 7.125 GHz and FR2 that goes from 24 GHz to 52.6 GHz. Carriers in Canada however are only currently using 5G networks below 2.5 GHz. It's expected that in 2022 we will see the use frequencies in the C-band at 3500 MHz.

The FCC's Table of Frequency Allocations consists of the International Table of Frequency Allocations ("International Table") and the United States Table of Frequency Allocations ("United States Table"). The FCC's Table of Frequency Allocations is codified at Section 2.106 of the Commission's Rules. For the allocation of frequencies the ITU has divided the world into three Regions.. The radio spectrum is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum with frequencies from 3 Hz to 3,000 GHz (3 THz).Electromagnetic waves in this frequency range, called radio waves, are widely used in modern technology, particularly in telecommunication. To prevent interference between different users, the generation and transmission of radio waves is strictly regulated by national laws.
